The 223-year-old Harvard University organization on Thursday said it would allow women to join its cast next year, local media reported.
Last year, the entertainment industry came under increased scrutiny after multiple allegations of impropriety against producer Harvey Weinstein triggered the #MeToo social movement and led to the downfall of dozens of powerful men in U.S. entertainment, business and politics. Weinstein has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone.
Kunis said she believed change was already happening in the industry.
“I think it’s already happened. I mean look at this tradition that’s been around for 100-plus years — changed. It’s happening,” Kunis said.
The Hasty Pudding award is given to performers who have made significant contributions to the entertainment industry.
After the program, Kunis posed with her ceremonial gold pudding pot.
