Hawaii volcano spews 6-mile-high plume of ash, could blow again

Videos and photographs uploaded to a social media website showed flames and smoke coming from cooling lava in the street and fissure in the street in Pahoa.

On Thursday (May 17), another fissure also opened in Leilani Estates while other fissures reactivated with lava, the Hawaii Civil Defense said in an alert.
