‘He was a good boy’ – father of Texas shooting suspect tells Greek TV

Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, opened fire in an art class in his Houston-area high school on Friday (May 18), killing nine students and a teacher in the fourth-deadliest mass shooting at a U.S. public school in modern history.

Antonios, born in Greece before emigrating to the United States in his mid-twenties, made the comments in a telephone interview with Greece’s Antenna TV.

During the interview Antonios also described the moments that Dimitrios left for school on the morning of the shooting, adding that his son took guns that belonged legally to Antonios from a closet in their house.
