U.S. Navy sailors help rescue plane crash victims in Micronesia

Sailors are seen walking on the wing of the partially submerged plane and then entering the water-logged cabin to inspect the interiors.

The plane, carrying 47 passengers and crew, crashed into the sea short of the runway at an airport in the tiny South Pacific nation on Friday.

According to a press release by Air Niugini, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft landed in the water approximately 475 feet (145 meters) from the runway, in poor visibility conditions.

The airline company said the six passengers that were taken to the hospital were in stable condition.
