More than 50 killed by suicide bomber in Afghan capital

It has been reported that a suicide bomber has blown up not only himself but a group of Islamic religious scholars in a banquet hall on this Tuesday morning in the Afghan Capital Kabul.
An estimate of 80 people has been killed, while others are left with serve injuries according to government officials.

“A suicide bomber detonated his explosives inside a wedding hall where Islamic religious scholars had gathered to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s birth,” Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

There have been no updates as to what motivated the attacker to commit such a massive act of violence towards innocent people.

“Hundreds of Islamic scholars and their followers had gathered to recite verses from the holy Quran to observe the Eid Milad-un-Nabi festival at the private banquet hall,” said Basir Mujahid, a spokesman for Kabul police.

No one has taken responsibly for the bombing.
