CNN Reporter Jim Acosta Recives Death Threats

It has only been one week since the heated exchanged happened at the white house between top CNN reporter Jim Acosta and President Donald Trump at a press conference. The incident ensued after Acosta questioned if Mr. Trump felt like he demonized a group of immigrants after he considered a caravan of incoming migrants an “invasion.”

This resulted in Mr. Acosta getting his White House Press pass suspended, and has sparked an outcry from the nation expressing their disapproval for how the matter was handled. Sarah Huckabee actually alleged that Mr. Acosta put his hands on a white house intern who attempted to take the microphone away from him while the exchange was in pursuit.

A lawsuit was then filed against the White House in pursuit to allow Mr. Acosta access back into the white house as the suspension will directly affect him doing his job and that the action is a violation of the first and fifth amendment.

Jim Acosta has now come forth in a sworn statement saying he receives death threats on a regular basis because of the way he covers the president.

In my many years as a reporter, I never received a death threat,” he said. “Now I receive death threats regularly, aimed at my work covering the president.”

April Ryan who is also a CNN reporter has expressed she encounters a similar experience and has taken matters in her own hands by hiring her own security to protect her safety.
CNN released a statement stating that security will be offered to the journalist that request it.
