The Do’s And Don’ts Of Voting

Election Day is finally here, and some are calling this election to be one of the most crucial elections to participate in due to the current political climate.  It has been 2 years since Donald Trump shocked the nation with his victory as the 45th president of the United States. It’s not a secret that some Americans have expressed their disapproval of President Trump’s policies and plans for change. California Congresswoman Maxine Waters along with many others have even called for him to be impeached, questioning his credibility and decisions he makes as a leader for the American people. Celebrities, public figures and even every day people are now urging the nation to be the change if they do not agree with the current policies in place. The message is simple yet powerful, “GO VOTE.”

This may be your first time voting or maybe you haven’t voted in years and you would like to exercise your right as an American citizen to be the solution and make a change. Here are some do’s and dont’s to remember while casting your ballot for this year’s election.

  1. Do not take pictures inside of the voting booth.

It may seem like a fun way to show your out being active in this year’s election by taking a selfie with your ballot to post on social media, but voting officials in some states are asking participates not to do so. However, some states will allow you to take your phone inside the booth. Here is a link for all 50 states policies when it comes to phone usage while voting.

  1. Report any problems/ technical issues

Some of the ballots may use the old school pen and paper method while others use the electronic booths to cast votes. No matter the difference if you sense something is wrong or off, please inform the nearest voting official to correct the matter.

  1. Know Your Rights As A Voter

We’ve all heard the stories from past elections and even this one where voters have been denied to exercise their right to vote due. These problems can only be caused by improper identity cards or residency.  So be sure to make sure you have all the proper information before casting your vote.

  1. Bring An Acceptable Form Of ID

It is imperative to have the correct form of ID when getting ready to vote. Acceptable form of ID includes;
