Massive Fire Engulfs Rio Oil Refinery

A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Rio de Janeiro on Monday (December 17) with dramatic images showing tanker trucks engulfed in flames.

Images have shown several tanker trucks and nearby equipment on fire with massive plumes of smoke emanating from the blaze.

The fire began around 1:30 pm local time at the Manguinhos refinery in the northern area of Rio de Janeiro according to local media.

Firefighters have the fire under control and no people have been reported injured according to local media.
