BREAKING: Officer Involved Shooting In Southwest Houston

By: Paige Hubbard

Police officers responded to a call they received from a guest at Comfort Inn and Suites around 9:30 am Tuesday morning after a guest reported someone had a gun on the premises.

When police arrived on the scene, they were unable to locate the suspect until the hotel manager informed them the man was hiding in the bathroom.

Officers tried to reason with the man, but they were unsuccessful. He then fled the scene on foot which led to a foot chase between him and authorities.

This is when police officials said they asked the man to put down the gun several times, but he was uncompliant and tried to re-enter the hotel.

That’s when police officers opened fire in fear of their lives and hotel guests.

The suspect was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical condition. No police officers were harmed, and the motive is unknown at the time.

Police are currently investigating possible leads as to what led to the incident.
