NTV Houston honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

The MLK grade parade kicked off today in mid-town Houston, many local bands dance teams and public figures gathered to celebrate the legacy of the late Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr was known as a civil rights activist, who believed everyone should be treated equally no matter the color of their skin. He was assassinated on April 4th in 1968 by James Earl Way, even though his life was taken by an act of hate, his legacy of spreading love and light is still taught throughout our country to this day.

Attendees of the MLK parade illustrated his dream of diversity and unity in all communities. He was best known for his iconic I have a dream speech that was presented at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C, today his dream was a reality as people from all different backgrounds came together to honor his legacy.
