President Trump on Sunday (January 6) signaled some compromise in ending U.S. government shutdown, now entering its third week, saying that there is a possibility of changing the construction materials used to build a barrier on the border with Mexico, that it could be “made of steel instead of concrete.”
Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn before boarding a helicopter to Camp Davis, Trump also said that trade talks with China were going very well and that weakness in the Chinese economy gave Beijing a reason to work toward a deal.
Trump said the U.S. is scouting sites for a potential summit with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
