Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala meets Japanese Prime Minister Abe

During her first visit to Japan, Malala is scheduled to make a keynote speech at the fifth World Assembly for Women (WAW!) and the Women 20 (W20) Japan 2019, along with Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

After talks with Abe, Malala said she applauds Japanese government’s efforts to improve gender equality in its work places, and said she expects the host nation of G20 to lead the discussions to encourage leaders to build further funding for girls education.

Japan will host G20 summit in Osaka from June 28 to 29.
