Pregnant Australian woman found dead in India, husband charged

Ravneet Kaur had gone missing on March 14 in the city of Ferozepur when her husband Jaspreet Singh was in Australia.

Her relatives alleged that the day she had gone missing, Kaur had gotten into a car with her husband’s lover named Kiran, who also lives in Australia. Police said that Kaur was strangled by Kiran and her associates. Her body was recovered on Monday from the nearby Bhakra Canal.

Police added they have charged Singh, Kiran, Kiran’s sister, and another man, Sandeep Singh for conspiracy and murder and they will initiate the extradition of the husband and his lover from Australia after completing their investigation.

Singh and Kaur were married in 2013. They have a four-year-old daughter and were expecting another child.
