Sherrif Nassir Abassi makes history by becoming first Desi promoted to high rank

Deputy Sheriff Nasir Abbasi was promoted to the rank of Deputy Sheriff Sergeant this past Monday at the Harris County Sheriff Office academy.

NTV Houston was there to capture the historic moment as he now will make history by becoming the first Muslim American to represent the whole subcontinent.

Harris County Ed Gonzalez was in attendance to congratulate the officers who were moving up in rank as they begin the next chapter in their careers.
