A 52-year-old father is dead after he was gunned down on his front porch in Southwest Houston.

The victim was identified by his family as Travis Cary and he was said to be beloved by neighbors.

Police said three people were involved.

A woman was first seen talking to Cary on his porch for about 10 minutes before she left.

10 minutes later, two men in silver Nissan parked on the corner of Hendon and Leawood walked to his house armed.

Cary and the two men got into an altercation and that’s when one of the suspects shot him. Cary was able to shoot back, killing him.

The second suspect then shot Cary nearly 10 times.

That suspect got into his car then drove off. Police are now looking for him and the woman involved in the initial conversation.
