Tragedy struck after a boat carrying 33 passengers and 2 crew members capsized leaving at least seven dead.
In result, Hungarian authorities are searching for 21 South Korean tourists on the Danube River.
CCTV footage showed the boat collided with another tourist vessel near the Hungarian parliament in Budapest, before turning over on the flooded river.
17 rescue teams with divers tried to save as many people as possible in the dark.
The boat reportedly could carry up to 45 people for this type of cruise. A police spokesman said that the tourist boat sank almost immediately after it collided with a large passenger boat by the bridge.
The travel agency “Very Good Tour” apologized for the incident and said the water level at the time was high and presumed the collision was because of a big cruise ship.
A criminal investigation has been launched into the accident and South Korean President Moon Jae-in said authorities would work with the Hungarian government to investigate the cause of the accident.
Authorities say there is little chance of finding any survivors. It may take several days to lift the boat from the river bed.
Police could not confirm or deny whether there could still be bodies trapped inside.
