More details have become available in the case of 4-year old- Maleah Davis who went missing over a week ago.
She was last seen with her step farther, Darion Vence who told police officials that while he was on the way to pick up Maleah’s mother, his tire blew out which caused him to pull over on the side of the road.
Vence then said he was approached by three men in a pickup truck that knocked him Unconscious. When he woke up, he claimed that the vehicle and Maleah were gone.
After almost a week of searching for the car linked to her disappearance, it was found by a cab driver who recognized the car from the news.
Despite the fact that Vence claims the car tire blew out, the car was found fully intact with no damages.
He also claimed that he walked to a nearby hospital after being struck by the alleged men, however surveillance footage shows otherwise.
In fact, security cameras released from the hospital show Vence being dropped off.
Maleah’s step-father Derion Vance, has been charged in relation to her disappearance with tampering with evidence namely, a human corpse. He was taken into custody Saturday and his bond was set at $1 million.
Monday his bond was reduced to $45,000
Vence was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning for his second hearing, but his court date was rescheduled to July.
NTV Houston has also learned that blood was found in Vence apartment that was traced back to Maleah’s DNA.
Photos were also released from a neighbors security camera that shows Maleah entering the apartment with Vence but never coming back out again.
