China, U.S. agree to resume trade consultations

The decision on resuming the bilateral trade consultations was made during a meeting between Xi and Trump on the sidelines of the ongoing G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

At the meeting, Xi and Trump agreed that China and the U.S. will resume talks on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The U.S. side said it will not add new tariffs on Chinese exports.
