Remains found in Arkansas confirmed to be those of Maleah Davis

By: Paige Hubbard

The human remains that were found Friday evening in Arkansas have been confirmed to be the remains of four-year-old Maleah Davis.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences confirmed the news on Monday morning. The office also said that more tests need to be conducted to find out her exact cause of death.

Last Friday, Derion Vence confessed to community activist Quanell X that he dropped the body off in Arkansas, just six hours away from his home in Houston TX.

Quanell said that Vence also told him what happened was “an accident” and he didn’t like how he was being portrayed in the media.

The mother of Maleah, Brittany Bownes has yet to comment since the confession was made. Vence currently sits in jail on a $45,000 bond.
