They are trying to stop ME, because I am fighting for YOU!

The Democrats want to take away your guns. They want to take away your health care. They want to take away your vote. They want to take away your freedom. They want to take away your judges. They want to take away everything. We can never let this happen. We’re fighting to drain the swamp and that’s exactly what I’m doing. And you see why we have to do it because our country is at stake like never before. It’s all very simple. They’re trying to stop me because I’m fighting for you and I’ll never let that happen,” Trump said in the statement.

Democratic lawmakers have a strong case for impeaching U.S. President Donald Trump if they can prove he abused his power when he asked Ukraine’s president to “look into” an American political rival, several legal experts said.

Trump pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden, an early favorite to win the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, according to a summary of a Trump phone call released this week by the White House.

Trump posted the video after spending the day at the Trump National Golf Resort playing with Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, a staunch supporter, and two professional golfers.

A small group of protesters lined up at the club’s entrance, holding signs that read “Resign,” “Jail Trump” and “Trumpty Dumpty Have a Great Fall.”

A total of 218 votes, a simple majority in the 435-member House, is required for impeachment. Conviction requires a two-thirds vote of the 100-member Senate – or 67 votes.

Under the U.S. Constitution, the president can be impeached for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”
