Baltimore audience showers Melania Trump with mixture of boos and applause

U.S. first lady Melania Trump was greeted by a Baltimore audience on Tuesday (November 26) with a mixture of boos and polite applause during brief remarks on the treatment of opioid treatment and rehabilitation.

The first lady was attending an event sponsored by the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, which was founded by the actor and which promotes educational achievement for youths who may be disadvantaged by financial circumstance.

As she arrived on-stage and began her remarks shortly afterward, Melania Trump was greeted with some cheers but an equally audible chorus of loud boos by the audience of approximately 2,500 people.

The booing lasted for approximately one minute before it transitioned to a lot of crowd conversation and other inattentiveness.

Melania Trump concluded her remarks with good wishes for the Thanksgiving holiday but that, too, was answered by another round of boos as she left the stage.
