U.S. House to vote this week to limit Trump’s military actions on Iran -Pelosi

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday (January 8) the House would vote on a resolution intended to limit President Donald Trump’s military actions regarding Iran, after concerns about the administration’s strategy and decisions were not addressed in a briefing with lawmakers.

Trump administration officials briefed the U.S. Congress on Wednesday (January 8) on the killing of an Iranian commander that has sparked a new Middle East crisis, as Democrats push for legislation to rein in the president’s ability to launch a war.

The briefing drew a mixed response from lawmakers with some characterizing the killing of Qassem Soleimani as integral to safeguarding U.S. security interests and others criticizing the Trump administration’s actions.
