25th Anniversary of Selena Quintanilla-Perez Rodeo performance

HOUSTON, TX – Today marks 25 years since the “Queen of Tejano” Miss Selena Quintanilla-Perez took the center stage at the Houston Livestock & Rodeo Show giving the fans a record-breaking sold-out concert at the then Houston Astrodome. The iconic concert aired live on Univision.

February 26, 1995, would also mark Selena’s last televised concert before she was tragically murdered.

The Houston Astrodome was packed with more than 61,000 people as she performed some of her biggest hits at the time in her now forever iconic purple jumpsuit, which was later placed in the Selena Museum of Corpus Christi, Tx.

Twenty-five years later Selena is still celebrated around the world. A tribute concert will take place at the Alamodome.
