Blizzard buries Turkish village under 20-feet of snow

A blizzard buried a village in Turkey’s southeastern city of Yuksekova and left the residents without power and water.

On Friday (February 21), the entire village was buried under a white blanket and residents were struggling to dig through 20 feet of snow.

Schools had been closed for three days and snow plow drivers braced the cold to clear the main roads to dozens of villages, private Demiroren news agency (DHA) reported.

Heavy snowfall caused disruption in southeastern provinces of Van, Agri and Bitlis as well isolating more than 70 villages, DHA said.
