Daredevil ‘Mad’ Mike Hughes dies in Homemade rocket launch crash

Daredevil and Flat-Earth conspiracist “Mad Mike” Hughes was killed on Saturday (February 22) after his homemade, steam powered rocket crash-landed shortly after take-off near Barstow, California.

The Science Channel confirmed Hughes’ death on their twitter page in a post reading, “Michael ‘Mad Mike’ Hughes tragically passed away today during an attempt to launch his homemade rocket. Our thoughts & prayers go out to his family & friends during this difficult time. It was always his dream to do this launch & Science Channel was there to chronicle his journey.”

Hughes is known for performing dangerous and record-breaking stunts. No other deaths or injuries have been reported from the accident.
