Duplex house fire

HOUSTON, TX – A duplex house fire broke out early Friday morning.

HPD officials responded to calls about a building being on fire around 1:41 a.m. at the 1000 block of Paschall.

The two story complex endured extreme damage, destroying the entire second level.

Residents say the fire started on the first floor of the complex and spread up to the second. One resident was trapped inside at the time with her dog Papi, but she managed to escape on her own.

No other injuries were reported from residents or firefighters in their attempt to sustain the fire.

The Houston Police Department and HFD Arson will investigate to see if arson played a part.
