HCSO officer-involved crash

SHELDON CITY, TX – A Harris County officer was involved in a car crash near the Crosby Freeway around 3:12 a.m. Sunday morning.

The deputy was waiting at a red light with another car behind him. Moments later a drunk driver in a white F-150 truck ran into the back of the sedan parked behind the deputy causing the sedan to smash into the squad car. 

Sheldon Fire and South Lake Houston EMS arrived at the scene to check everyone out for any injuries. The driver of the truck was arrested for a DWI. The male deputy sustained neck and back injuries. The driver of the sedan suffered a cut on his face.

HSCO Vehicular Crimes Unit is to investigate the accident.
