Intoxicated driver crashes into Fire Station 18

HOUSTON, TX – Firefighter crews work endlessly to clean up the aftermath of an ironic crash into their fire station after an intoxicated driver drove straight into it.

The crash took place in the 600 block of Telephone Rd. last night around 10 p.m. Houston Police say a gray sedan driven by Christopher Wayne Rogers came speeding into the wall of the fire station and crashed into the front of the building.

Assistant Chief Ruy Lozano reported one firefighter injured with a possible concussion. He says the vehicle rammed into the lounge area knocking over a row of refrigerators.

“We think he was hit by a refrigerator. All the refrigerators were knocked over. We don’t know exactly where he was, but we know he sustained an injury to his head,” Lozano said.

Rogers was arrested for DUI.
