Father and son left in critical condition after a hit and run

CYPRESS – A father and his 3-year-old son had to be Life Flighted following a hit and run accident Saturday night.

The duo was struck by a silver Nissan Altima as they attempted to cross Lakewood Forest Drive and Grant Road in Cypress. Captain John Shannon of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office department says the driver of the Altima was traveling at excessive speeds before impact.

The driver fled the scene, but was later tracked down and was occupied by three passengers.

The father and his son were both taken to a local trauma center in severe conditions. All three individuals were taken into custody for failure to stop and provide aid.

An investigation is to take place.
