HOUSTON – Houston Rodeo 2020 kicks off today! This event alone brings in thousands of people from all over the city.

With concerns of the coronavirus at an all-time high Mayor, Sylvester Turner is still encouraging fellow Houstonians to come out and have a good time.

UT Health Dr. Michael Chang urges everyone to increase their hand hygiene to help aid themselves from any germs.

The RodeoHouston website also includes helpful tips on how to properly wash your hands and even suggests either bringing your own travel-size sanitizer or using the hand sanitizer stations that will be placed in various areas around the carnival grounds.

“If you’re going to have a snack with kids, make sure you have a hand sanitizer,” Dr. Chang said. “You can’t be perfect. The key is really hand hygiene.”

Most importantly, do everything you can to protect yourself from any harmful germs. Including if you are sick just staying home.
