HOUSTON, TX – More than 40 Houston Fire department firefighters are traveling to California to help battle the many blazes across the state.
These firefighters will be replacing those that were deployed earlier in the year to the state and will be working in 24-hour shifts.
Southwest Airlines has waived all fares for the one hundred plus firefighters who flew out of Hobby Airport earlier this morning.
Currently, there are about 30 fires burning across California and local fire departments need all the help they can get.
