Walmart to increase wages for employees nationwide

NATIONAL – Walmart announced it will be increasing wages for over 160,000 hourly workers across the country.

On Thursday, the national retail company announced big changes coming to all Supercenters beginning in October.

All hourly lead associates will now be paid up to $30 per hour.

Deli and bakery area associates can expect an increase to $15 an hour.

Pay is also being raised for associates in auto care center roles.

Aside from raising wages, the company revealed it’s “investing in new roles and skills training to give us the flexibility to serve customers anytime and anywhere. In turn, associates will have more room for career and pay growth.”
