HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A woman diagnosed with cerebral palsy was shot to death in her home overnight according to Harris County deputies.
The shooting was reported in the 11200 block of Timber Crest north of Jersey Village around 11 p.m.
The victim, 20-year-old Sierra Rhodd, was asleep in her bed when shots were fired at her through her bedroom room. Police on the scene say there were dozens of shell casings found scattered throughout the front yard of the family home, including a shotgun.
Investigators say based on the amount of casings left behind, shots were possibly fired from at least three sides of the home.
According to members of her family, her younger brother may have been the target behind the senseless shooting. Since March her parents have made multiple reports to local authorities regarding a series of threats from a group of guys in the area.
The shooters escaped in several vehicles, one believed to be stolen.
One suspect was later tracked down in a red pickup truck. He was taken into custody for further questioning.
At the moment no arrests or charges have been filed, as a thorough investigation is still pending. Check back for updates.
