A man left in critical condition after a crash involving an 18-wheeler

The Houston police say a man was left in critical condition last night after a crash involving an 18-wheeler big rig truck.

The crash happened in the 13900 block of the Katy Freeway feeder road around 9:20 p.m.

According to authorities, the 18-wheeler was turning out of a private driveway when the Charger struck the side of the trailer. The driver of the Charger was taken to a local hospital by Life Flight.

An investigation will take place although police believe speed was a factor.
