HOUSTON, TX – A former HISD teacher was arrested Tuesday on multiple accounts of sex crimes against students in his classroom.
Wilbert Sequerios, 54, a former 3rd-grade teacher and soccer coach at Northline Elementary School was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child.
Court documents say a boy informed district police that Sequerios forced him to remove his clothes in a classroom closet and perform sex acts. The child then said Sequerios threatened to kick him off the soccer team if he didn’t go along with the sexual abuse.
Upon further investigation, other victims disclosed their encounters with sexual abuse in the classroom closet.
An 11-year-old girl informed police that when she was in the third grade, Sequerios became upset when she found an empty beer bottle inside the classroom. As a result, she was forced into the closet, thrown into a chair, and had her hands and feet held while Sequerios assaulted her.
Since then the girl said she was relieved someone else had come forward because he threatened to “do something bad” to her if she told anyone else of the abuse.
Any other possible victims are urge to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
