Houston’s first psychiatric center coming to the Medical Center

HOUSTON, TX- Houston’s first public mental health hospital is coming to the Medical Center soon, according to UTHealth officials.

Set to officially open its doors late next year, the 220,000 square-foot facility will include over 260 patient beds and will give each patient the proper access to mental healthcare.

UTH hopes to finally break the stigma of inaccurate depictions of what psychiatric hospitals are really about.

This new campus will be the largest facility in the USA and the new training site for all future physicians and specialists.
