Seven Lakes High School temporarily closes after several COVID-19 cases reported

KATY, TX – Seven Lakes High School closed down on Friday after 43 students tested positive for COVID-19, according to representatives from Katy ISD.

The principal of Seven Lakes High School sent home a letter to parents which said in part:

“Thru contact tracing many positives be linked back to medium to large scale gatherings involving our students. These gatherings include off-campus weekend parties where social distancing and mask-wearing has not occurred.”

In addition, the district is also reporting that two staff members have active cases of the virus. However, per campus condition stages, the school will not officially close down until cases exceed 10% of current facility occupancy.

Students and staff are expected to report back for in-person instruction next week Tuesday, November 3.
