COVID-19 vaccination coming to Houston-area hospitals

HOUSTON, TX – After months of anticipation, an effective COVID-19 vaccination is underway.

Four Houston-area hospitals confirmed shipments would be sent out mid-December once the Food and Drug Administration green lights them for emergency usage.

Drugmaker Pfizer submitted preliminary data showing the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective in fighting off the virus, the vaccine is still under review by the FDA which can take up to three weeks to complete.

Shipments are soon expected at Texas Children’s, Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, and MD Anderson.
