Harris County Judge encourages avoiding family gatherings this holiday season

HARRIS COUNTY, TX– Harris County Judge Lina Hildago released a statement urging residents to be smart and avoid large Thanksgiving gatherings this year.

The latest numbers show a 250 percent increase to 635 COVID cases a day.

Hidalgo says the positivity rate has risen to 8.5%, causing concern that numbers may begin to replicate trends back in June with increased hospitalizations and ICU capacities.

She stressed the importance of canceling larger gatherings this year and instead go out and get tested just to be sure you know your status as well as others around you.
