HOUSTON, TX – The University of Houston-Downtown partnered with the Houston Food Bank to offer free groceries to students, faculty, and staff today to prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving break.
The university’s traditional grocery giveaway was held in a socially distanced format this year, featured with a drive-by grocery pick-up near the UHD Police Department.
Students will be eligible to take home 30 pounds of free groceries each week. For those remaining on campus for the holidays, the UHD food market will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Services will close down on Thanksgiving Day.
