One dead after a home explosion in Tomball overnight

TOMBALL – Authorities confirm at least one dead after a home explosion in Tomball Wednesday night.

Officers reported to the home on Vernon Street around 11:15 p.m. There they located a home covered in flames. It took fire crews about 15 minutes to get the bulk of the flames under control.

Upon extinguishing the flames authorities discovered a body of a male under debris. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the victim’s identity, although it is believed to be the owner of the home.

Investigators from multiple agencies have been working tirelessly throughout the night to determine if it was an act of suicide involving the intentional ignition of a flammable liquid and natural gas.

No other casualties or injuries were reported.
