KERR COUNTY, TX – An investigation is pending after a retired Houston police officer was fatally gunned down in his gated Kerr County neighborhood.
In a news release from the sheriff’s office, officers responded to the home on Honor Drive following an altercation that took place between two residents in the subdivision leading to shots being fired.
At the scene, deputies located 68-year-old former HPD Robbery and Theft Division officer, Mart Hanna, who was declared deceased at the scene.
The shooter was later identified as Kenneth Brown, a 71-year-old, a retired U.S. Customs Officer, according to the news release.
The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office will join with the Texas Rangers to further investigate the series of events.
No arrests were made.
