BREAKING: US President Donald Trump tweets he will not be going to the Inauguration on Jan. 20th

US President Donald Trump tweeted out Friday morning that he will not be in attendance at the January 20th Inauguration.

His announcement comes after many call for him to resign or be impeached from office. Both Democrats and a number of Republicans believe he bears the blame for the riots on the Capitol on Wednesday.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” his tweet read.

Trump will be the first president not to attend his successor’s inauguration since Andrew Johnson in 1869. Vice President Mike Pence will have to represent in his place.
