House fire on Beckley Street

HOUSTON – Houston firefighters are working to determine what caused a massive fire at a home in 9700 block of Beckley Street. 

According to deputies, units were dispatched to the home twice in one shift. There was a report of an electrical issue, which caused the insulation in the attic to start smoking. 

Firefighters shut off power to the house, pulled out the insulation, and the family was evacuated. However, crews had to return hours later when a heavy fire broke out.

One firefighter was reported injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investgation.
