Man found rendering aid to shooting victim arrested in connection with his death

HOUSTON – One man was taken into custody for his connection to the fatal shooting of another man near Downtown.

Police say the shooting took place around 6:40 p.m. Friday at a home on Hadley Street near Live Oak Street and Nagle Street.

When officers arrived, they said they located Donald Glen Jones, 34, rendering aid to 49-year-old Kevin Verdine, after he was shot multiple times.

Verdine was later pronounced dead at the scene.

After additional screening from Jones, it was revealed he was the suspect in the shooting. He has since then been arrested and charged with murder in connection with Verdine’s death.
