HOUSTON – A pedestrian has been killed in a hit-and-run crash on the north side of Houston.
The crash took place at the intersection of N Shepherd Drive and Thornton Road.
Witnesses say a red or black truck was traveling northbound on N Shepherd when the pedestrian attempted to cross the street and was struck by the truck. The driver did not stop to render aid and was last seen driving on Thornton Road.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the pedestrian did not use the crosswalk at the time and the driver would not have faced any charges but due to them fleeing it has now been labeled a hit and run incident.
At the time no identification has been released.
If you have any information you are asked to call the Houston Poice Department.
