Person pronounced dead after suspected hit-and-run near La Porte

HOUSTON– One person has died following a hit and run incident in the 10951 block of W Fairmont Parkway. 

A Precinct 8 Harris County Constable deputy says he was driving down the road when he noticed a body lying along the side of the road.

The deputy discovered the individual had been struck by a vehicle. EMS crews declared them dead at the scene.

The driver involved later reach out to La Porte Police Department revealing he thought he struck a deer.

No further information was released on either party involved. Precinct 8 will conduct a thorough investigation of the crash.
