Several structures destroyed after a fire on Mary Francis Drive

HOUSTON – A fire destroyed multiple buildings, including two homes, in northeast Harris County overnight.

The fire was reported last night in the 5600 block of Mary Francis.

Eastex Fire Department responded to the scene and found heavy flames coming from a home nearby. The flames had quickly spread through a neighboring home and eventually impacted seven other surrounding buildings.

No serious injuries were reported.

Firefighters said due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, they were unable to quickly extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
