The South African cricket team on Sunday (January 17) held a practice session at the Karachi Gymkhana ground where they will be training from January 17-22 in a biosecure bubble as they began preparations for their first match in Pakistan for 14 years.
The team arrived in Karachi on Saturday (January 16), having not toured Pakistan since 2007, following a militant attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009 that killed six policemen and two civilians.
Led by wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock and coached by former keeper Mark Boucher, the visitors will be playing a series comprising of two Tests, the first starting in Karachi on January 26, and three T20 Internationals.
