Saturday, February 6, marks one month since supporters of Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol to protest the results of the Nov. 3 election, which the Republican president had falsely claimed was stolen.
The riot led to five deaths, including a Capitol Police officer.
More than 170 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol attack that interrupted the formal congressional certification of Joe Biden’s election victory over Trump and sent lawmakers into hiding for their own safety.
The House of Representatives later voted to impeach Trump, accusing him of inciting insurrection when he urged supporters to “fight” his election defeat before they stormed the Capitol.
The Senate impeachment trial of Trump, the first U.S. president to be impeached twice, is due to begin on Tuesday (February 9).
